DANIEL DUKE, PE
Dan is the Principal of the Bohler DC office and is responsible for leadership, staff development, business development and project management. With over 20 years of land development and civil engineering experience, Dan is an expert in site feasibility analyses, site layout and planning, and zoning and subdivision / land development ordinance review interpretation. He has offered expert testimony in several municipalities before Planning Commissions, Zoning Hearing Boards and related entities in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.
Dan is the urban design leader in the Mid-Atlantic region, specializing in large-scale, mixed-use developments in Washington, DC metro area. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for both DCBIA and WDCEP.
KATE CURLL, PE, LEED AP BD+C
With over 10 years of civil engineering and project management experience, Kate brings a wealth of knowledge and problem-solving abilities to each project. She has successfully designed and managed multiple significant projects in the District including Skyland Town Center, the redevelopment of Union Market, and Monroe Street Market at Catholic University.
Kate is highly involved as a leader in Bohler’s Women in Engineering program, a group committed to inspiring and empowering women in the AEC industry. She is also active in local industry organizations including DCBIA, ASCE, NAIOP and ULI. Kate is LEED AP BD+C certified and licensed in the District of Columbia and California.
SHEILA NALE, PE
Sheila is responsible for client and project management in the District and Arlington, Virginia. Bringing more than 10 years of experience in civil engineering, leadership, and management, she has overseen multiple complex developments including The Tellus, 750 N. Glebe Road and Dock 79.
Sheila is active in local industry organizations including DCBIA, WDCEP, ULI Young Leaders Group, NAIOP and NVBIA. She has a strong passion for sharing her expertise with the next generation of engineers; previously serving as a volunteer mentor for the NAIOP DC/MD Capital Challenge and ULI UrbanPlan Program. Sheila is licensed in the District of Columbia.
MICHAEL O'HARA, Jr., PE, LEED AP BD+C
Mike has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of civil engineering design with a focus on urban redevelopment in the District and Arlington, Virginia. Throughout his career at Bohler, Mike has helped to cultivate opportunities and has overseen a variety of project types including design-build, residential, commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, park / recreational, and mixed-use products. As Associate and the Branch Manager of Bohler DC, Mike is responsible for daily operations and serves as a point of contact for our professional land surveying services. These services include but are not limited to Boundary, Topographical, Utility, Location, ALTA, and As-Built Surveys.
Mike is an active member of numerous industry organizations including DCBIA, WDCEP, ICSC, and Lambda Alpha International. He also serves on the Gala Committee for Habitat for Humanity of Washington DC’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, as well as NAIOP’s Arlington Government Relations Subcommittee and Green Buildings Incentives Team. Mike is LEED AP BD+C certified and licensed in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
BRIAN WERRELL, PE, LEED AP BD+C
Brian focuses on complex design-build, mixed-use, office, multifamily, park / recreational, higher education and retail developments in the District. Throughout his extensive career of more than 10 years in civil engineering and land development design, Brian has managed a variety of projects including five projects surrounding Nationals Park, RFK stadium, and the Brookland Manor redevelopment.
Brian is active in local industry organizations including DCBIA, ASCE, ESI, NAIOP, NVBIA, ULI and the DC Real Estate Group. He is LEED AP BD+C certified and licensed in Maryland.
JOHN CARNES, PE, LEED GA
Previously a manager in Bohler’s Northern Virginia office, John has extensive experience designing and managing many multi-faceted industrial, residential, hotel and urban developments. With more than 10 years in the land development industry, he has managed multiple projects in the City of Alexandria, as well as the renovation and expansion at the Pentagon City Mall.
John is active in local industry organizations including ASCE, NAIOP and ESI. He is certified as a LEED Green Associate and licensed in Virginia.
