Bohler DC is proud to celebrate Van Dorn Plaza’s recognition by the Alexandria Beautification Commission, honoring the revitalized retail center for enhancing the visual character and community experience of Alexandria’s West End.
Originally engaged by EDENS, Bohler DC helped reimagine Van Dorn Plaza while preserving the existing building and the majority of on-site parking. The project focused on modernizing the customer experience through refreshed storefronts, outdoor gathering spaces, comfortable seating areas, and an enhanced landscape design.
Beyond aesthetics, the project also advances sustainability goals through the integration of green infrastructure. The redesigned site includes a bioretention facility incorporated into the amenity spaces, helping manage and treat stormwater while complementing the overall landscape experience.
Bohler DC provided a comprehensive suite of civil engineering and site design services that helped bring the vision to life, including:
